The Domaine du Gros Chêne benefits from a prime location. Indeed, you will stay quietly, in a natural setting, in the village of Ablon, while being close to major cities and local attractions.

Five minutes by car will be necessary to reach the village center and all its shops: supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, bakery, etc.

After 10 to 15 minutes by car, you will find yourself in the center of Honfleur, and 20 to 25 minutes to reach the center of Deauville. 

Whether you want calm and nature, while being close to the most beautiful points of interest in Normandy, the Domaine du Gros Chêne is the pied-à-visit perfect land

The Flower Coast

From Honfleur to Cabourg, the Côte Fleurie du Calvados fascinates and amazes. Between chicand romanticism, between fine sand and typical Normandy landscape, the Côte Fleurie has a lot to offer you . 

If you visit it, we particularly advise you to take a trip to Cabourg which will charm you with its Belle Époque villas, to discover the Falaises des Vaches Noires in Villers-sur-Mer , to visit Deauville or Trouville-sur-Mer, the two twins, and to gain altitude in Honfleur to feel free and alone in the world. 

The Normandy hinterland

From your seasonal rental in Ablon, easily explore the Norman hinterland. Discover Giverny, marked by the passage of Claude Monet, or even Beaumont-en-Auge which will offer you an exceptional panorama of the Touques Valley. Finish withPont-l’Évêque, an unmissable stop for all foodies.

Le Havre

Thirty minutes drive is enough to reach Le Havre. Visit this exceptional town and wander around the city in search of its must-see attractions: the Perret model apartment, the Museum of Modern Art André Malraux, The Hanging Gardens or the Saint-Joseph Church. Le Havre never stops surprising you! 

The Mont Saint Michel

In two hours, you will be at Mont Saint-Michel, one of the symbols of Normandy. Visit this exceptional monument and discover exceptional panoramas. Stroll through the cobbled streets and discover the special and gentle atmosphere. Don't miss crossing the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, on foot, you will feel alone in the world!  

The landing beaches

A few kilometers from Domaine du Gros Chêne, you will find the five Normandy landing beaches. They all have their history and their charm. All are unique and offer you a journey through history. On foot or by bike, set off to discover one of the symbols of June 44: Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Gold Beach, Juno Beach and Sword Beach. 

Hiking and walks

From your seasonal rental in Ablon, take a charming path and set off on a walk that will take you to Honfleur.

You will also find in the surrounding area, forests and typical Norman houses, which will invite you to wander and contemplate.

Étretat

In less than an hour's drive, you will be in Étretat. This city open to the Channel has inspired more than one artist thanks to its resplendent and exceptional landscapes. We particularly suggest the Courtine Cliffs, the Manneporte, Aval and Amont, without forget, the Trou à l'Homme, the old market and the Jardins d'Étretat.
